This is a painting of early morning over Bray beach and promenade with a lady deep in thought as she gazes out over the sea.

I don’t do portraits and very seldom paint people in my landscapes but this was subtle and fits in with the painting in the distance without taking it over. I was super delighted with how it came out and the sky adds a nice beauty to the scene.

This was when I visited Australia. I headed out to the Great Ocean Road as I have been told about the 12 Apostles. I must say when I saw the amazing colours and landscape it took my breath away. It was nice to be back among the pebbles of Bray beach again. This one has a warm feel of a sunny day with the sound of water washing over the shingle and back into the sea.

I also added some old seaweed left amongst the pebbles.

It is a view from the beach looking across at the Martello tower at Red Rocks in Sutton.

It was nice to capture the pools of water that get left behind on the beach as the tides recedes.
