I have listed prices for Europe but this only covers Belgium, France, Luxemburg, Netherlands & Germany. Please contact me for a quote for any other country not on my list.
I can ship internationally to USA & Canada and a few other places but prices are so volatile that I cannot give accurate advance prices via this website. If you would like something shipped from Ireland and your country is not included, contact me with your list of products and I will get you a quote based on the packed size of the shipping box.
Jan 2024; A current example is €31 for a box shipping to the USA below 0.5kg, 4 days shipping time. €39 up to 1kg, €47 up to 1.5kg and it goes on from there. Airmail is calculated by volumetric box measurement so small items may be cheaper and bulky items very expensive.
Long Distance Selling rules apply. You have the right to a 14 day cooling off period after receipt of goods. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the products or they are damaged in transit you should within 14 days: Contact me first and supply photos of what is wrong with your order and then Return the item to the me as soon as is agreed.
Not as described or damaged in Transit return shipping costs will be at my expense, you will pay initially for tracked return and I will reimburse you once I receive the goods. If you change your mind about an item or did not read my description properly then the return tracked shipping will be paid by you the purchaser and this will not be reimbursed. I always over supply details and advise buyers to contact me before purchasing with any product query. Act as soon as you can – a delay can indicate that you have accepted the goods as is.
Once I receive the returned goods in the same good order as I shipped I will process your original payment as refund. I will not refund before receiving the returned goods. Always use a tracked shipping to return goods to me, lost return package will mean you will not be reimbursed. Custom or made to order work is non refundable unless damaged in transit. Clear photographs of the shipping box damage and product damage will have to be supplied first before a decision will be made.
I'm a Woodturner and Woodcrafter from Tralee Co. Kerry Ireland and I run a full time business from my workshop at home. I also teach Woodturning to anyone interested in my studio and have taken on students from most of Munster and further afield.
I'm a member of both the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland and Original Kerry Craft Group. I always wanted to have a home based business and the last recession gave me the push I needed to make a start. Although a qualified Carpenter for years, I had never actually cut and dried fresh hardwood before so since 2014 I have been doing just that.
My style of turning suits my personality. I get bored of repetition and I like to go with the flow. When I see an interesting grain pattern emerge on the lathe I try to feature it as much as possible. I don’t like using guides, templates or storyboards at all now. My woodturning is constantly evolving and changing. Rather than doing batch lots of the same pieces over and over again, I turn a group of pieces and then analyze and progress them in the follow up pieces. Looking back through my pieces you should be able to see a clear evolution and progression of design.
I see myself as a conservationist and I often have to argue with fallen tree owners where they want to cut the trees into firewood and I want to create something beautiful. It’s such a pity that people see trees as a source of income or heating a small room in the house being totally destroyed in the process. While my turning does destroy the tree too, at least there is something remaining that is as beautiful as the once standing tree.
A portion of my sales now go towards a hardwood tree planting organisation in the West of Ireland called Hometree. Please look them up online and donate to a worthy cause. It is so hard to make a living from Woodcraft alone so I have branched out into other retail items. Any purchase you make from me goes a long way. Thank you for reading.
