Friend gift, handmade with clayFriendship, friendship isn’t a big thing it’s a million little things, office decoration, handmade with clay, gift for friends, hanging decoration, air dry clay
Are you looking for a very special token of appreciation for a dear friend? Then these are perfect. small enough to hang on a notice board in the office or around the home as a reminder of how much your friend means to you. Its a great size to post abroad too.
The Process: I use rolled out wet clay to 'cut' out circles onto which I use ink to stamp out the wording onto the now damp clay using my own lettering stamp. Then comes the hardest part for me, waiting for the clay to thoroughly dry out - this can take anything from 2-4 days . Once dried I get to work sanding two times! - the first time is to soften the edges and get rid of any larger bumps/lumps, the second sanding is to clean up and ink that has bled and to smoothen the surface of the piece. After this I apply a very light varnish to 'set' the ink before threading with natural jute string and adding a few random coloured wooden beads. Finally its ready to package and post.

Once the order is placed I generally get to work on them within 12 hours so cancellations are not always possible. I will not accept exchanges or returns on personalised items as I cannot re sell. Allow me to introduce myself. I’m a busy Mam of two living in the beautiful Hill of Down, Co Meath next to the Royal Canal Greenway. I’m a native of Edenderry, Offaly. In my former career I had an undergraduate degree in Social studies and was studying for a degree in forensic psychology. Most of my career I spent managing a youth justice project supporting vulnerable teenagers. However all of that changed when I took a career break to spend time with my young children. My outlook completely changed and my priorities did too. I have always been a creative soul and find pure joy in making with my own hands. So with huge family support I established my own little business – The Clay Conifer and have never been happier. My goal is to be Irelands ‘go to’ small business to shop for the highest quality handmade clay gifts for all occasions.
