Keep your bars of soap in great condition with these Beech Hardwood Soap Dish Holders. Made in my workshop in Tralee Co. Kerry Ireland using American Beech.
- Handcrafted from log to finished piece
- Made in Ireland from solid US Hardwood
- Intricately crafted with longevity in mind
- Very affordable gift item
- Eye catching pieces
- Exceptionally Finished
- Keep your soap in good condition for longer
- Water drains off
- Extremely Functional and beautiful to look at.
Each one of these soap dish holders has been crafted from a solid piece of wood, sanded smooth and finished with a coat of Hampshire Sheen Danish Oil.
The channels in each piece are designed to allow water to drain freely away allowing your soap to dry better and last longer. The adhesive rubber feet are now included in the price and will keep the soap holder out of any liquid allowing your piece to dry off even better while keeping the wood out of pools of water.
Wood is a natural material and each dish has its own unique color and grain pattern.
The Danish Oil Finish helps to seal the wood and add a further level of protection to the dish.
Made from imported American Steamed Beech, yet an Irish made product.
You are buying a piece similar to the photos, not the ones shown.
Dimensions 75mm x 100mm or 4 inches x 3 inches approx. Weight in box 120g.
Thickness approximately 16mm without the rubber feet, 20mm high including the rubber feet.
Finished with Hampshire Sheen Food and Toy Safe Danish Oil.
Cut to size, processed, sanded and finished in Tralee Co Kerry Ireland.
This type has 3 drainage channels underneath instead of 2. I get bored of repetition so I try to vary designs a little from time to time.
Comes with 4 Rubber Feet to keep the wood out of pools of water. Please note that water and soap ingredients may discolour the wood surfaces. This is not a big issue as the holder is doing it’s job of allowing your soap to dry off.
I have changed the shipping packaging to make the shipping cheaper and I have passed on the savings.
Please Note:
Water and soap may discolour the wood after a time or sometimes even after first wetting due to ingredients of some soap.
Water is one of those substances that may find a way through any finish eventually.
The soap holder is designed to drain your soap, not to look pristine once used. If your soap is drying in place, then the soap holder has done its job.
I have an Ash version listed on this site which is a nicer wood in my opinion but each to their own.

I'm a Woodturner and Woodcrafter from Tralee Co. Kerry Ireland and I run a full time business from my workshop at home. I also teach Woodturning to anyone interested in my studio and have taken on students from most of Munster and further afield.
I'm a member of both the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland and Original Kerry Craft Group. I always wanted to have a home based business and the last recession gave me the push I needed to make a start. Although a qualified Carpenter for years, I had never actually cut and dried fresh hardwood before so since 2014 I have been doing just that.
My style of turning suits my personality. I get bored of repetition and I like to go with the flow. When I see an interesting grain pattern emerge on the lathe I try to feature it as much as possible. I don’t like using guides, templates or storyboards at all now. My woodturning is constantly evolving and changing. Rather than doing batch lots of the same pieces over and over again, I turn a group of pieces and then analyze and progress them in the follow up pieces. Looking back through my pieces you should be able to see a clear evolution and progression of design.
I see myself as a conservationist and I often have to argue with fallen tree owners where they want to cut the trees into firewood and I want to create something beautiful. It’s such a pity that people see trees as a source of income or heating a small room in the house being totally destroyed in the process. While my turning does destroy the tree too, at least there is something remaining that is as beautiful as the once standing tree.
A portion of my sales now go towards a hardwood tree planting organisation in the West of Ireland called Hometree. Please look them up online and donate to a worthy cause. It is so hard to make a living from Woodcraft alone so I have branched out into other retail items. Any purchase you make from me goes a long way. Thank you for reading.
