Never Let Go - The mother and child bond by Mary Duffy Portraits
As a Portrait Artist, people tell me stories. Over the last year those stories were all about longing to see those we love again…grandchildren who haven’t visited in months, a daughter or son who couldn’t come home for a visit.
So I started to draw hands feeling that they were such an important symbol of our connection to those we love.
Never Let Go is the second print in this collection and it shows the unbreakable bond between mother and child, even when they can’t be together.

Hi, I'm Mary. I’m a portrait artist from Dublin, living in Ratoath, Co Meath. I work from my home studio where I create drawings of what matters to you. I started drawing hands in Lockdown as a hopeful symbol of connection to those we love, even when we were disconnected. Now I draw hands to represent the bonds that are important to you - a mother and child, a grandparent and their grandchild, holding hands with someone you've lost, a couple in love... You can see the family of hand drawings below. I hope you find something that speaks to you. You can contact me if you have a special request or if you have any queries. I'll be happy to help. Thanks for visiting my store. Mary.
