Pull string spinning top with ball bearing mechanism
One of my favourite items to make, these tops are hand-turned from native Irish yew and completed with metal furnishings. The concentrated mass along with the ball-bearing mechanism allows them to spin reliably on nearly any surface. With an amazing gyroscope action, these tops spin for a long long time with each pull of the self-winding string. Children and adults can time each other to see who can make them spin the longest. It is a great pleasure to see children playing with something that is durable and nonelectronic. They are approx. 7.5 cm in diameter and 8 cm high.
